Darling Steady Eddie - A Love Letter (not always pretty)

To my darling Steady Eddie (short for Edwina)

I know you. I see you! I AM you!! Think of this as a letter to myself.

You’re not the fastest runner out there, and maybe not the toughest. And if you’re anything like me, you’re not the prettiest (you have running photos to prove it!) But we don’t CARE about pretty, right?!

You think about quitting. Sometimes you think about quitting a lot.

There have been a lot of day ones on the plan. (I LOVE a day one, don't you?)

But… you lace up when it’s dark, when it’s raining, and when no one else feels like running.

You know you have it in you — most days.

Between child pick-ups, work deadlines, food prep, little league carpools — you find a way.

Between medical appointments, diagnoses, relationship break-ups and romance start-ups and navigating the not quite enough in the bank account. - you find a way to tie up those laces.

You’re steady. You’re stubborn. You know (deep down, you KNOW) that showing up is what matters most.

Edwina is the spirit of the back-of-the-pack runner — gritty, determined, and proud. Around here, we’re all a little bit like Edwina.

Because showing up — that’s where the magic happens.

Welcome to my blog: a little bit of magic, and a LOT of cheerleading, for those dark, solitary, lonely, hard, euphoric, catastrophic, peaceful, frantic moments when you are showing up. One step at a time.

It’s bloody beautiful.

Let's go!

Coach Angie
